It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #53

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

Okay, time for a BEA update:

On the recommendation of a friend, I checked out airbnb.com. I found a girl who rents a bedroom in her apartment right in Times Square, for a price I can afford! I booked it, plus roundtrip on the bus, for a grand total of $166. I’m stoked. I’ll be arriving at BEA around noon on the Tuesday, then leaving Wednesday after the show closes for the day. Any meetups planned for Tuesday night? How about the Teen Author Carnival?

I had a couple of DNFs last week. They just didn’t grab me, and I decided to cut my losses, return them to the library, and move on.

Finished:
Waiting by Carol Lynch Williams
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini (audiobook)
Life As I Blow It

Continuing to read:
11/22/63 by Stephen King
V Wars by Jonathan Maberry, John Everson, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Scott Nicholson, Nancy Holder, Yvonne Navarro, James A. Moore, and Gregory Frost

Hoping to finish:
Grow Up by Ben Brooks
Rotters by Daniel Kraus (audiobook)
Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach

What are your reading plans this week?

I hope you will stop by!

I really liked the Holly Black Curse Workers series and the Patrick Ness Chaos Walking series! You might try those.

  2. I’ve been wanting to read the Christopher Paolini series. I hope you enjoyed all the books. Have a great week!

    • Audrey Audrey says:

It’s really long, but it’s probably better to start now that all the books are out. The gap between the 3rd and 4th book meant that I had forgotten a lot.

  3. Wow – that’s an awesome deal for BEA! I’ve never been before but am thinking of doing it this year.

    • Audrey Audrey says:

I’m really happy I was able to book a room in somebody’s apartment, Bed & Breakfast style. Soooo much cheaper than a hotel! And if you’re able, you should go!

  4. Are you liking 11/22/63? Tons of people around here are reading it and loving it!

    Happy reading!! :)
    What are YOU reading??

I totally admire you taking those books back to the library. I get so stubborn about finishing the book I am reading, even if I’m not enjoying it.
