“Waiting On” Wednesday: The Quicksilver Faire

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine.  It highlights pre-release books that we just can’t wait to get our hands on.

The book I’m drooling over this week is:

The Quicksilver Faire by Gillian Summers
Release date: June 8th 2011
Publisher: Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd.

This is book #2 of the Scions of Shadow trilogy, which is the follow-up trilogy to the original Faire Folk saga. I love these books, mainly because I’m a geek for going to Renaissance faires and like reading stories about there actually being real fairies and elves working behind the scenes. The books are a lot of fun, and fairly lighthearted, so I have a hard time putting them down. I’m actually really surprised these books aren’t more popular, because they’re such a good time to read.

From the publisher’s website:

Keelie Heartwood believes that her mission in Canada is to resolve a conflict between the elves and the fae. But at the dazzling Fairy High Court — fraught with enchantments and trickery — she soon learns otherwise. An imbalance in magic has created a colossal rift that can destroy the world. Keelie’s mixed blood (elf, human, and fae) makes her powerful, but this sixteen-year-old L.A. girl can’t fix things alone.
In this strange, magical place where time is unruly, nasty goblins run amok, and an ancient (and handsome) forest god is pursuing her, Keelie isn’t sure just whom to trust.

What book are you lusting after this week?
