It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #36

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

Okay, today’s the last day of vacation. I haven’t had as much time with my physical books this week as I’d intended (too much sleeping and having fun with friends!), but I did get through an audiobook while cooking.

I put my reading goal for the year at 150 books. That’s more than I’ve ever done, but I think it’s manageable if I try really hard. That equals just over 3 books a week.

Finished:
The Sounding by Carrie Salo
Bossypants by Tina Fey (audiobook)
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

Continuing to read:
Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (I need to get it back from the library!)
11/22/63 by Stephen King
Inheritance by Christopher Paolini (probably will have to return to the library only partially finished again)

Hoping to finish:
Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel
The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson
Just My Type by Simon Garfield

What are your reading plans for the coming week? Did you set a reading goal for the year?

I loved Bossypants! Definitely a favorite in 2011. Tina Fey was hilarious. I’m glad I decided to listen to the audio book. 11/22/63 is on my list for this year. It has been a long time since I read a Stephen King book. So, why not jump back in with his latest? Thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy 2012 and here’s to a great reading week!

I have a copy of Bossypants and I’ve been meaning to get around to it. I love humorous memoirs! I have an ARC from Netgalley of Under the Never Sky that I need to get around to! I’ve heard such awesome things about it!

I would love to try 11/22/63 but the last Stephen King book I attempted (Under the Dome) I gave up about halfway through….

Bossypants was awesome! I really loved it. And I’m a huge Stephen King fan. I’ve read tons of his books, so I have to read this one too!

  10. Lindsey says:

Do you get special librarian powers where you can keep a book indefinitely? Due dates are definitely not my friend…
I will look for your review of 11/22/63. I am ashamed to admit I have never read King, but that book sounds really interesting.

    • Audrey Audrey says:

I wish! Most of the books I get are from the local public library, and I don’t work there. I don’t even get special privileges at the library where I work. Oh well. No special treatment.

  11. I LOVED Dearly, Departed. My first zombie read too lol Did you like Under the Never Sky?? I’m hoping to read it soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    • Audrey Audrey says:

Actually, Under the Never Sky wasn’t for me. I’m hoping to review it tonight after I make dinner. But yeah, I had a really hard time getting into it, and caring about the characters.

  12. Shelleyrae says:

11/22/63 is actually one the few of Stephen Kings books I know I won’t read – just doesn’t interest me much. The Psychopath Test looks intriguing though

Wishing you a great reading week!
