It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

I got the rest of my ALA Midwinter books this last week, so I was very excited to load them into Goodreads, and pet and nuzzle them. If you want to see what I picked up, check out my post here.
I also had Friday off because of the big snow storm. We ended up getting about 23.9″ of snow where I live. The winds were nearly 50 mph, so it was like a snow tropical storm, what we call a Nor’easter up here in New England.
This was how my car looked when it was all over. Yeah, digging out wasn’t fun today, but the snow day was a blast. I feel really relaxed, and we didn’t lose power or anything. I watched movies, read books, did a little bit of committee work, you know. The only bad thing was that my swing band was supposed to play a Valentine’s Day dance/concert on Saturday night, and that got canceled.
Finished:
A Study in Revenge by Kieran Shields
Betrayal by Gregg Olsen
Stories from Jonestown by Leigh Fondakowski
Continuing to read:
People Who Eat Darkness: The True Story of a Young Woman Who Vanished from the Streets of Tokyo and the Evil That Swallowed Her Up by Richard Lloyd Parry (audiobook)
Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks
Hoping to finish:
St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves by Karen Russell
The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
The Uninvited by Liz Jensen
The Ruining by Anna Collomore
What are you reading this week?

Wow! that is a lot of snow – I couldn’t imagine having to dig through that! I’m impressed with your ALA haul as well
Enjoy your reads

The ALA books are making me quite happy. The snow is in huge piles, but it’s supposed to rain today, so it will melt some of it.
Wow, that is quite the snow storm. We had 2 inches or so (the Netherlands) – it usually doesn’t get much more than that. How nice that you had a day off because of the snow without being much inconvenienced. Sounds like a lovely extra weekend day.
I loved The Uninvited – hope you’re enjoying it too!
I was reading the NetGalley file and it had a lot of problems, so that was tripping me up. I checked out the physical book from the library and hope to actually get to it this week, without the typographical errors.
Love the picture! I wish we could some of that snow! A snow day sure does sound good!
I’d mail you some, but I think it would melt
I envy you your snow day. Since our contract has us making up the time now, snow days have lost their luster for me. Glad you enjoyed it. My Monday report is here. Happy reading!
I’m so happy we don’t have to make up the snow days. Not sure how they’d do that, other than taking away vacation days since we’re open year-round.
There’s a car under there?! Wow! I can’t imagine going thru that! (I live in Florida). I’m glad you didn’t lose power and are all safe. Sounds like you had a great week in books though!
It’s double exciting for me since I’m a native Southern Californian. This is only my 5th New England winter, and I don’t think last winter should count since it barely snowed.
Holy moses, look at your poor car! We got around 5″ of snow last night..not quite the same
I hope you enjoy all of your books this week, happy reading!!
My car is now totally cleaned off, but we threw all the snow from my car onto my boyfriend’s car, so his is double covered
Holy SHIT. That is a lot of snow. O_O
Ha, yeah. Also, it’s supposed to snow again next weekend. I <3 New England.
We had a blizzard here in Missouri about two years ago and it was wild!! I hated being stuck in the house but seeing the storm was kind of neat. Hope you dig out soon – LOVED the pictures!
Have a lovely reading week!
Whatcha readin’ this week @ the Brunette Librarian
It was super fun because I got to stay home. Walking around was tough today because the sidewalks aren’t really clear. There’s just nowhere to put it, so they have to cart it away bit by bit!
I have not jumped on the Karen Russell train yet, but I hear great things about St Lucy’s….and Swamplandia. Are you loving it so far?
Wow! That is a lot of snow! I always like a snow day though, as it’s a chance to stay in be warm and read and watch films
