It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

It’s been another great summer week in my neck o’ the woods. For the 4th of July, I hung out in Boston with a few of my friends, including a visiting friend celebrating his birthday (who is probably reading this!). Then, on July 5th a couple of my band friends picked me up from work on their boat and we went into the Boston Harbor and then down the Charles River, which was quite nice. Yesterday was spent with the same friends as on July 4th, but this time in Salem. We mainly spent the day in the Peabody Essex Museum and walking around. I feel like I’m actually spending the summer doing fun things! Yay!
I have some summer concerts I’m playing this week, and I’ll be celebrating my birthday on Friday. What this all adds up to is a little bit less time spent reading and blogging. It’s summer, and I want to take advantage of the lovely weather to spend time with friends.
Finished:
Surrender by Elana Johnson
How Can I Be Your Lover When I’m Too Busy Being Your Mother by Sara Dimerman and J.M. Kearns
Undead by Kirsty McKay
Continuing to read:
11/22/63 by Stephen King (audiobook)
Hoping to finish:
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
On the Day I Died by Candace Fleming
Blackout by Mira Grant
What are you reading this week?

I’m reading Wild Swans for my bookgroup as a companion read to Good Earth. Not sure which book is sadder.
Here’s my
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? I hope you will stop by!
I haven’t read either of those, but maybe I should look them up!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful summer! I liked Shadow of Night but it certainly wasn’t a quick read. I hope you like it too. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
Shadow of Night is turning out to take a long time to finish (I listened to Discovery of Witches on audiobook and it was crazy long), but I’m really enjoying it, much more than the first book. I think it works well as historical fiction/fantasy.
I’ll have to check out your review!
Oh Shadow of Night! Happy birthday!
Thank you!
Hope you have a great birthday!!!
I love Boston and am hoping to get up there soon.
Enjoy your books this week!

Thanks! And you should definitely visit Boston–it’s a great city and I’m lucky I get to be so near it.
I will have to add Blackout to my TBR list, I love zombie books!
I’m really excited to dive in! I love the series, and can’t wait to see how it ends.
