It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #61

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

Sooo, after taking three out of state trips in three weeks, and now trying to recover from my jetlag, I’m officially three books behind according to Goodreads. Ahh! I’ll need to step it up for sure. The finished books in my post represent the past two weeks, since I didn’t have computer access last weekend to post.

Finished:
This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker

Continuing to read:
11/22/63 by Stephen King (audiobook)
How Can I Be Your Lover When I’m Too Busy Being Your Mother by Sara Dimerman and J.M. Kearns

Hoping to finish:
Surrender by Elana Johnson (review on Monday)

What are you reading this week? Who else is excited for boatloads of fireworks!?

You have a nice list of books. My favorite read last week was The Bride’s Kimono by Sujata Massey. Please come see what else I’m reading.

  2. Both of your current reads are on my tbr list so I’m interested in seeing what you think of them. Happy reading!

I considered listening to The Age of Miracles and decided against it. I’m rather glad after reading your post. I haven’t heard anything good about Melancholia, so if The Age of Miracles is like that…

Goodreads is telling you that you are three books behind?! Eek. I hope it doesn’t start monitoring my reading!

It’s because I’ve challenged myself to read 150 books this year. Goodreads keeps track of how many books I’ve read, and how “on track” I am to reach my goal. I think I’m only currently about 2% behind, so I just need a couple of weeks where I read a few more than usual.

  5. Wow, ‘How Can I Be Your Lover When I’m Too Busy Being Your Mother’ sounds a bit weird, so I’ll definitely be checking back for the review! I hope you enjoy all of your reads and don’t get too stressed trying to catch up! ;)

It’s a non-fiction book about how women are working more now, but still end up with the majority of home responsibilities as well. A lot of it reads like my life, since I work full-time and still end up doing dishes, laundry, cooking, shopping, etc.!

  6. Jupiter says:

I enjoyed 11/22/63. It made me read more about Lee Harvey Oswald.

I’m not familiar with your books – hope they are all good!

Have a great week and hope you get in some good reading time!

I want to read “The Age of Miracles” meaning it’s on the list of my ever-growing list of books I want to read! I love the name of your blog by the way!

  10. Lindsey says:

Wow, 11/22/63 must have a ton of disks as an audiobook! That is a book I would really like to get to, if the queue at the library ever slows down a little bit.
    Have a wonderful week!
