It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.
Again, I haven’t really posted for the last couple of weeks. It’s because my mom came from California to spend Thanksgiving here in Massachusetts. She only just left earlier today. I couldn’t spend much time on the computer, because we were doing mother-daughter stuff, including a whole lot of baking. I did finish some books, though.
The weekends before that were spent playing a couple of community band concerts as well, although those are done now until February.
The books in this post represent the last couple of weeks. I’m reeeaaallllyyyy hoping to get some reviews up this week, since I’ve fallen so drastically behind. Thanks for your patience!
Finished:
Mortality by Christopher Hitchens
Haunted Places: True Encounters with the World Beyond by Hans Holzer
Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
Break My Heart 1,000 Times by Daniel Waters
Lost at Sea by Jon Ronson
Continuing to read:
The first few of these are books that I just lost interest in for the time being. I’ll pick them up again later, but for now I’m bored.
Live by Night by Dennis Lehane
Fever Season: The Epidemic of 1878 That Almost Destroyed Memphis, and the People who Saved It by Jeanette Keith
The Dead Roam the Earth by Alasdair Wickham
The Passage by Justin Cronin (audiobook)
Hoping to finish:
The Lives We Lost by Megan Crewe
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
What are you reading this week?
I really enjoyed most of How of to be a Woman – it started to feel slow near the end though, at least for me. I am looking forward to seeing what you thought of it.
And baking! I have really been looking forward to doing some holiday baking.
I agree. I liked the book, though. She’s funny.
You have been busy reading! I haven’t read any of the books that yo recently finished so I am looking forward to your reviews. I hope you have a wonderful week!
Rebecca @ The Key to the Gate
Hopefully some of them will interest you.
Glad you spent time with family! How was Beautiful Redemption? I am behind on the series. Have a great week.
Beautiful Redemption was good, although not my favorite of the series. I always feels good to finish a series, though.
Mother/daughter time is important You’ll get back at it, don’t fret!
Have a great week!
Thanks! Hope your week is great, too.
It’s lovely that you spent so much time with your Mom
Good luck catching up and have a great reading week!
Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out
It was good getting to spend time with her, since she lives 3,000 miles away!
I plan on reading the Hunger Games the first time this week.
Ooh, you’re in for a treat
I am reading The Casual Vacancy at the moment too. So far really enjoying it.
Have a lovely week
I really liked it. I need to get my review up, because I have a lot to say
The Passage on audio? Oof. That will only take 8 years.
Yeah, it’s 27 discs. It’s taking me ages. I’m on disc 10 right now. Still not as long as 11/22/63 or Discovery of Witches, though!
Oh dear on Live By Night….I usually like Dennis Lehane. I hope I like it when I start it.
Nice blog….I visited before, but haven’t been here for a while.
Have a great day!!
