It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #68

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey meant to highlight books you read in the past week, and what you’re planning on reading this week.

Fell behind on reviewing this week. I’m having a hard time getting back into the swing of writing. In my defense, I felt sick much of the week and slept a lot because of that. I didn’t feel like being awake, let alone writing reviews.

The good news is that I’ve pulled ahead in my Goodreads reading challenge. Goodreads is telling me that I’m currently 1% ahead, so I’m going to try to keep it up. Pretty much everything was good last week, but the best one of all was Libba Bray’s The Diviners. I think that’s going to have a huge fan following when it’s released this month!

Finished:
The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and Other Stories by Mark Twain (audiobook)
Splendors and Glooms by Laura Amy Schlitz
The Diviners by Libba Bray
Butter by Erin Jade Lange

Continuing to read:
Freaks Like Us by Susan Vaught

Hoping to finish:
Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone by Kat Rosenfield
The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde
Amped by Daniel H. Wilson (audiobook)

What are you reading this week?

I hope you’re feeling much better now. I’ve been really curious about The Diviners. I haven’t read anything by Bray before. Was this your first book by the author? I have no idea what I’m going to read this week. I’m just going to let my mood guide me. :-) Have a good week.

    • Audrey Audrey says:

I’d previously read Going Bovine, which I loved, and Beauty Queens, which I liked. I think The Diviners is my favorite by Bray so far!

  3. Jennifer says:

Sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well. The only good thing about that is having an excuse to lay around and read for hours at a time ;) Hope you are feeling better now and have a better upcoming week!

I always want to lay around and read when I feel sick, but I just end up sleeping instead. Oh well, at least when I’m better I can read again.

  4. Pussreboots says:

How is Amped as an audio book? I loved Robopacalypse on audio. I read Amped as an egalley but would like to go back and listen to it.

My favorite book this week was Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith. Please come see what I’m reading now.

    • Audrey Audrey says:

Amped is good! It seems like it may be the same narrator as Robopocalypse. I’m actually enjoying Amped a bit more because it follow’s one character’s storyline and isn’t as fragmented as Robopocalypse.

  5. I hope you are starting to feel better. congrats on your challenge achievement!

Wishing you a great reading week!

  7. I’ve heard a lot of rave reviews about Libba Bray’s work and I have yet to check out her Beauty Queens. I’m a Jasper Fforde fan as well, but haven’t seen The Last Dragonslayer yet. Any good?

Hope you are feeling better. I have fallen way behind on my reviews too but mine was down to a mental block on one book – too good to review.

Great book choices. Love Mark Twain!

  11. Well, you finished more books that I did, so congrats :) I hope you start feeling better soon! I didn’t really like Mark Twain’s writing! Thanks for sharing!
